Their constant-pitch-center designs allow brass players more freedom to make music. The STC-1 is the standard weight model, designed for use in non-Monette instruments and comes in either the Classic design (denoted as STC-1), or the new PRANA design.
Monette lead trumpet mouthpieces (designated by the L) are available in the STC-1 (Standard Weight) body or the LT (Light Weight) body. The newest XLT (Extra Light Weight) body is available on a small number of lead trumpet mouthpieces.
